"Mean Green Machine"

Welcome!

This is series of pages about one of my many dune buggies. I like project dune buggies. I have decided with this one to start with a page for it, before I ever turn a screw to take it apart. Those of you who know me, know I love to take things apart.... They usually get sold before ever going back togther. With " the Mean Green Machine" as my fiver year old calls it, that will be different. We have decided to seriously restore this to running condition this winter. We will be posting photos here as we go so you can get excited and go on ebay and get your own, project dune buggy!

What is the plan?

We want to complete this buggy "reload" in time for the 2006 Silver Lake Dune Buggy Invasion. We will return to where this buggy saw it's former glory and again be able to shred the sand in the Great Lakes region. For more about it's history, follow the history link.

Why dune buggies?

That is a question my MOPAR or nocar buddies always ask. I started out with a total love of VWs. My first buggy experience was watching Speed Buggy. Many years later I saw some buggies roaring into a VW show. I was dazzled by the metalflake, and it's been downhill since then. I have collected on of the worlds largest collection of magizines, brochures, and dune buggy toys ever found. My other website the Dune BuggyArchives is a tribute to everything fiberglass. We will have some new and exciting stuff there soon. Stay tuned.
